Once again, the new direction team took part in the Eserlauf in Augsburg. In total, we ran over 80 laps and thus raised considerably more donations than we had planned👏

After the run, we felt exhausted but deeply satisfied. Doing good for people inspires everyone to go the extra mile - in the truest sense of the word😊

The therapeutic community Eser 21 was founded by Friedegard and Gerd Warkentin. The Warkentins have dedicated a considerable part of their lives to building Eser 21. Against all odds, full of trust, faith, love and hope. Their perseverance and deep faith were rewarded.

As a result, they have done an infinite amount of good on the way gebracht❤️

We were delighted to meet Gerd at the run and are deeply grateful to have played a small part in his life's work haben☺️

About the Eserlauf

The Eserlauf followed by the Eserfest is the annual highlight of the Eser season. Every year, up to 100 runners run their laps in the green spaces at the Rote Tor in Augsburg to raise money for the Eser and then fortify themselves with barbecued food, salads and drinks at the Eserfest.

The course is approximately 700 meters long. Each runner has the task of finding sponsors who will pay a fixed amount for each lap completed, which will then benefit the work of Eser 21. The Diakonieverein Eserwall e.V. was founded in 1992 as the sponsor of the therapeutic facility "Am Eser 21". The organization provides the house to offer help and accommodation to mentally ill people and to help them reintegrate into professional and social life.
